Let's see, where did I leave off

The last thing that was said was that we celebrated our 1 year anniversary! But there was soooo much more excitement after that!!!!!

So, because of some different things going on, one being that Christopher had a LOT of homework during Thanksgiving break, we ended up having to stay in Kentuckiana for Thanksgiving! I was pretty bummed at first, but the day actually ended up going well!!! Even though we've already celebrated one Thanksgiving holiday together, this was the first Thanksgiving holiday in which I cooked the whole meal! :) It went well!!!! Here are some pictures to prove that I actually did cook! ;)

This is our pitiful little turkey! It was good none the less, but it's definitely a "2 person" turkey! :) Thank you "Jennie-O" for this not so complicated, ready to eat turkey breast!

This is the brocolli cheese casserole I made! :) It was yummy!

My first time making sweet potato casserole!!! It was AWESOME! Although my hubby doesn't like sweet potato casserole, so really I only made it for myself! lol!

Also notice the stuffing. This was our whole meal! It was really good!!! And fun, too!!!!

Later on that day, we drove out to the movie theater to see "A Christmas carol" in 3D!!! It was an awesome movie!!!! :)

Then we went back home to enjoy the quiet evening! It was a great day!

A few weeks before Christmas, we started to decorate for the holiday! :)

Our tree :)

Since we were able to go home to VA for Christmas, we had our own little "Christmas Eve/Christmas day" at our apartment!! So for our "Christmas Eve" we just hung out and by the evening, we watched a movie and sipped hot cocoa! :) We even got some snow flurries!!!

"Christmas Morning" at our apartment!

Christopher reading in Luke

Our stockings..and yes, one of them was for Flash! :)

And yes, Flash opened his gifts ALL by himself!!!!! He's such a cool dog! :)

We had such a great "Christmas Morning" just the 3 of us! :)
Then, we traveled home to VA for another Christmas!!! We had a blast!! It was sooo very wonderful to be able to see our family and friends while we were in!!!

Do you have any idea how relieved I was to be able to see THIS LITTLE GIRL!?!?! My niece has grown soo much! It was hard getting used to the fact that I wouldn't see her as much as I used to living in VA! I mean, I lived right next to my brother and sister-in-law, and they would get me to babysit, and I very much enjoyed it!!! I got to see her quite a few times a week. Then of course, after almost 6 months of not seeing her, I got to see her during Christmas!!! She's getting sooo big!!!! And wow is she precious!!!!!

Look at this beautiful family! :) I was so grateful to see my brother and sister-in-law!!!

I was so glad to be home and see my brothers!!! They are such goof balls, but we are the best of friends!

And ohhh how I had missed this lady! My awesome sister-in-law and a wonderful friend!

I have so many more pictures, but it would make this blog post sooo long! :) These pictures are just a few of the memories I captured, being back home!!!!

Want to know what's been happening since Christmas?!?! :) I will do another blog update today!!! And as always, we are so grateful for the prayer warriors that have been praying for us since we've moved here. God is doing miraculous things, as always...and His faithfulness is so very evident even in the smallest of things!!!!! We miss everyone back home!!!

It's been way, way too long (Part I)

Hello everyone! I'm so very sorry that it's been so long since my last post!!! Since my last post, many things have happened.

Warning: Considering the length of time that has past since my last entry, this blog will be very long, and I will have to create a second entry to go along with this one. :) But here's the start!

-My Parents came to visit, to join in on celebrating my birthday! We had a blast, and we even walked along side the river and it was a beautiful day for pictures! Although it was very windy!!!

-Christopher and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary in Pigeon Forge, TN!!!
His parents and grandma also came, and we spent one of the days we were there, in Dollywood with them!

Since I've last blogged...

We went to the U of L vs. Pittsburgh game :)

We are still visiting Clifton Baptist Church! :)

We've had a few nasty storms!

I got business cards for my job!!

I've tried some new recipes! MMM (Cheesy salsa mini meatloaves! A big hit, I might add)

And some old ones! :) (Chicken biscuit pie)

We got a new fish, his name is Sammy. (RIP Sky the fish, who's bowl was knocked over by our dog running into the lamp, causing lots of trauma to the fish, and a few days later, was at the bottom of the tank :( Poor guy)

We celebrated my birthday!!! I was reminded that even if we can't celebrate my special day with friends and family, we can still party hardy! :) He even took me to the cheesecake factory! What a great husband!!!! :-)

I hope you enjoyed those recent pictures! :) And next time I blog, I will be telling you (Lord willing) about my parents' visit!!! They are coming to extend my birthday out a little longer, and we are gonna party it up this weekend! I'm SO excited to see them!!!! And also, our 1 year anniversary trip isn't too far away, and hopefully we will be seeing Christopher's mom and dad!!!!! And all I have to say to my mother-in-law, is "you better not let the RAIN stop you!!!!!" :-) And then before you know it, Thanksgiving will be here!!! And even Christmas!!!! We are doin great over here in "Kentuckiana" and we know this is exactly where God wants us to be!!!! He is made it clearly evident, and has provided all of our needs!!!

Just a reminder, we are still so very grateful for those of you who lift us up in your prayers! And thanks to those who have sent cards recently, it helps when we get homesick, and reminds us that we haven't been forgotten about! :-D We love you all!!! Until next time

Church, anniveraries, and football tickets!!!

Hello everyone!!!

Well, I'm sorry that I am just now updating this thing after a few weeks have already gone by!!! First of all, I want to thank all of you that have been faithfully lifting us up in your prayers!!! The first thing I want to tell you about, is a church that we LOVE: Clifton Baptist Church. Now, granted, we have only been there twice, but we absolutely love it!!! It's funny, because people kept saying that Clifton Baptist was just full of seminary students, and not much else, and honestly, one thing we were looking for is a church that has a variety of ages. It's great to have seminary students, but there is so much wisdom in older believers as well. Although, we had heard great things about Clifton. We decided to give it a try. And when we walked in, we saw a lot of seminary students, but we also saw quite a bit of variety as well!!! It wasn't exactly like other people were saying. I think that maybe with all the students around, they didn't get a good look beyond that. :-) We really appreciate this church. Pastor Tom Schreiner is wonderful! His preaching is incredible, and extremely biblical. Christopher and I just love the worship!!! It's humbling, and beautiful. And the people there are great! Very friendly!!! So all in all, I think we might have found a home away from home, here at Clifton Baptist. :-)

I thought you might enjoy some interesting things about Clifton:
(Taken from their website)
-"Clifton Baptist Church was organized in 1893, arising out of a local Christian mission. People gathered in several different locations in the Clifton area, including a Frankfort Avenue store front, under a tent and in nearby homes."

Here below, is a picture from their website, of the church.

Also from their website, they write:
"The church building was completed in 1937. Since our inception, we have been actively involved in the Clifton neighborhood, witnessing and ministering to local needs.
Today we rejoice in the vibrant ministry and witness that God has established in this church that once met under a tent on Frankfort Avenue!"

Cool, eh? It's so awesome that this all started under a tent!!! :-) Keep us in your prayers as we continue to visit this church, in hopes that we will soon become members.

In other news, check out what I won at work, in a drawing!!!
2 tickets to see U of L (University of Louisville) play against Pittsburgh! :-) We're not HUGE sports fans, but this will be a lot of fun! :-) Something to experience here in Louisville!!!

And last but not least, we are excited about our 1 year anniversary coming up in a little over a month! We will be having a weekend getaway to Pigeon Forge, TN. (Which is where we spent our honeymoon) This time we will be staying at a cabin. I'm pretty excited about it! It will have an indoor jacuzzi, and a hot tub outside :-) The good news is, that from where we are, Pigeon Forge is only about 4 hours away. So we are closer than we were in VA. :-) We are really looking forward to this little getaway, just to celebrate, and spend some quality time together, away from everything, and all the distractions. (aka, lots of school work! lol) Although, we are grateful that God has brought us here, and won't take it for granted, not even the school work. We are learning to be even more grateful for every little and big thing that God has provided to us. He has shown us in so many ways, just how faithful He is, even when we don't know how in the world things are supposed to work out. Shame on us for ever doubting that God could bring us here, and then provide a job for me! He is so faithful!!!

Well, now that I've probably bored you to death, I will end here. :-)
And again, please feel free to leave a comment. You don't have to sign up to leave them. Just do it anonymously. Although, you can mention your name, so that I know who you are! :-)

Until next time,

Update

Hello family and friends,

I know it's been quite a while! Shame on me!

Things have been goin great around here! I do get a little homesick at times, but for the most part, we are doing great. God has truly blessed us tremendously and I just can't say that enough!

So it's been almost a month of working at Appriss, Inc., and it's an awesome company to work for!!! They truly treat their employees well!!! I'm getting the hang of everything now, and I just love it! Christopher is liking school. He is doing very well so far, not too stressed...yet! I'm excited for September to come and go! (No offense! LoL) But in October, I think my parents might come to visit, and if I'm correct, possibly Jennifer and Boyd! :-) And then of course in November, Lord willing, we will be traveling for Thanksgiving!

We are already trying to plan our 1 year anniversary trip! :-) I really want to go back to where we had our honeymoon! Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area! This time, it would be nice to stay in a cabin! We would just go for the weekend, and obviously we have a budget! Nothing too expensive! Sooo, if all goes well, and we save up, we will have a nice weekend getaway trip! :-) And it's only 4 hours away from here which is awesome! Not too long of a drive! I'm hoping everything works out so that we can go! :-)

We also have met another couple at the seminary, and actually went out to eat with them on Sunday, after lunch! They are really great! We hope to get to know them more! And actually Christopher has a class with him, and didn't realize it. (It's a big class!) The cool thing is, they lived in CA, and attended MacArthur's church, and if you know anything about MacArthur, then you know that it's pretty awesome! :-)

Well, that's all I can think of, I'm hoping to update this thing more often! I know a lot of time went by between this post and the last!

Please continue to keep us in your prayers, as we follow God's will. He is truly meeting our needs in a way that makes us awestruck! We are so very thankful for His providence! Also we are so very thankful for everyone that is keeping us in their prayers! You have no idea how much it means to us, to know that we have believers lifting us up in prayer! God is good, isn't He?!?! :)

God, and His faithfulness!

Hey out there, friends and family!

Hope everyone is doing well!

I know it's been a while, and I wanted to let you know that I still exist, and that this blog will continue to exist as well! :-)

The last time I wrote, was to let everyone know that I got the job!!! I have been here for a little over a week now, and I can already tell that this is an incredible company to work for! Everyone around here is SO friendly and welcoming, and I love that! It's an awesome atmosphere! Very laid back and just all around awesome! God has yet again, left me truly speechless!

Ya know, I look back at how we got here and really, it's by the miracle and the grace of God!!! Christopher and I had our share of confusion, discouragement, and let downs, but in the end, it all worked out for the glory of God! It's sad in a way, that looking back, we started to doubt. Maybe it wasn't intentional, but in our minds, we started to wonder how in the world this was going to work out. And literally at one point, we didn't think it would! We did the math, and it just didn't seem possible. And even in the times of doubt, God was and is still here...

This is an awesome testimony to God's faithfulness. Nothing is too big for God!!! Through this whole change, I have really learned to completely trust God, even if it doesn't make since, and even when I don't even think it's possible. It IS possible, because of my awesome God!!! It has always amazed me at how faithful God is to the unfaithful.

2 Timothy 2:13: if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny himself.

What an awesome reminder!!!

As much as I wil be blogging about what's going on in our life, I also want to be an encouragement to whoever might read this.

Only by the grace of GOD!!!!!

Hello everyone!!!

I am updating my blog to tell you that by the grace of God, I got the job!!!!!!!! I'm so VERY grateful to God for this opportunity!!!! I will actually be starting tomorrow (Tuesday)!!!! Which is the same day that Christopher starts his classes!!! God is good!!!! (Of course, He is good regardless of whether I have a job or not!!!) I will have benefits!!! Health, dental, vision, and life insurance!!!

Thanks to all those who have lifted us up in prayer!!! God has heard and answered!!!

That's pretty much the only exciting news I have for you at this point! But I wanted to let everyone know! :-)

Oh! Here's something interesting! My phone literally broke in half about a week ago, so my dad was going to send me a new one in the mail. Well, the other day, my brother-in-law Boyd called, and asked if I wanted to join their plan and get a free Blackberry Tour..and pay less monthly than I'm paying now!!! So I'm pretty excited, but I've never owned a blackberry. Everyone says it's great, but I'm sure it will take some getting used to, considering that I've always had a small phone. :) And the phone that my dad sent me will actually be used by Christopher. The battery on his old phone is about shot...it still works, but it keeps getting worse...so this is good...we both get new phones!!!

Well, I will update soon! This was just a quick blog for today! Busy getting prepared for tomorrow! :)

Until next time,

The very proud wife of a seminarian!
