Church, anniveraries, and football tickets!!!

Hello everyone!!!

Well, I'm sorry that I am just now updating this thing after a few weeks have already gone by!!! First of all, I want to thank all of you that have been faithfully lifting us up in your prayers!!! The first thing I want to tell you about, is a church that we LOVE: Clifton Baptist Church. Now, granted, we have only been there twice, but we absolutely love it!!! It's funny, because people kept saying that Clifton Baptist was just full of seminary students, and not much else, and honestly, one thing we were looking for is a church that has a variety of ages. It's great to have seminary students, but there is so much wisdom in older believers as well. Although, we had heard great things about Clifton. We decided to give it a try. And when we walked in, we saw a lot of seminary students, but we also saw quite a bit of variety as well!!! It wasn't exactly like other people were saying. I think that maybe with all the students around, they didn't get a good look beyond that. :-) We really appreciate this church. Pastor Tom Schreiner is wonderful! His preaching is incredible, and extremely biblical. Christopher and I just love the worship!!! It's humbling, and beautiful. And the people there are great! Very friendly!!! So all in all, I think we might have found a home away from home, here at Clifton Baptist. :-)

I thought you might enjoy some interesting things about Clifton:
(Taken from their website)
-"Clifton Baptist Church was organized in 1893, arising out of a local Christian mission. People gathered in several different locations in the Clifton area, including a Frankfort Avenue store front, under a tent and in nearby homes."

Here below, is a picture from their website, of the church.

Also from their website, they write:
"The church building was completed in 1937. Since our inception, we have been actively involved in the Clifton neighborhood, witnessing and ministering to local needs.
Today we rejoice in the vibrant ministry and witness that God has established in this church that once met under a tent on Frankfort Avenue!"

Cool, eh? It's so awesome that this all started under a tent!!! :-) Keep us in your prayers as we continue to visit this church, in hopes that we will soon become members.

In other news, check out what I won at work, in a drawing!!!
2 tickets to see U of L (University of Louisville) play against Pittsburgh! :-) We're not HUGE sports fans, but this will be a lot of fun! :-) Something to experience here in Louisville!!!

And last but not least, we are excited about our 1 year anniversary coming up in a little over a month! We will be having a weekend getaway to Pigeon Forge, TN. (Which is where we spent our honeymoon) This time we will be staying at a cabin. I'm pretty excited about it! It will have an indoor jacuzzi, and a hot tub outside :-) The good news is, that from where we are, Pigeon Forge is only about 4 hours away. So we are closer than we were in VA. :-) We are really looking forward to this little getaway, just to celebrate, and spend some quality time together, away from everything, and all the distractions. (aka, lots of school work! lol) Although, we are grateful that God has brought us here, and won't take it for granted, not even the school work. We are learning to be even more grateful for every little and big thing that God has provided to us. He has shown us in so many ways, just how faithful He is, even when we don't know how in the world things are supposed to work out. Shame on us for ever doubting that God could bring us here, and then provide a job for me! He is so faithful!!!

Well, now that I've probably bored you to death, I will end here. :-)
And again, please feel free to leave a comment. You don't have to sign up to leave them. Just do it anonymously. Although, you can mention your name, so that I know who you are! :-)

Until next time,

The wife of a seminarian :-)

Update

Hello family and friends,

I know it's been quite a while! Shame on me!

Things have been goin great around here! I do get a little homesick at times, but for the most part, we are doing great. God has truly blessed us tremendously and I just can't say that enough!

So it's been almost a month of working at Appriss, Inc., and it's an awesome company to work for!!! They truly treat their employees well!!! I'm getting the hang of everything now, and I just love it! Christopher is liking school. He is doing very well so far, not too stressed...yet! I'm excited for September to come and go! (No offense! LoL) But in October, I think my parents might come to visit, and if I'm correct, possibly Jennifer and Boyd! :-) And then of course in November, Lord willing, we will be traveling for Thanksgiving!

We are already trying to plan our 1 year anniversary trip! :-) I really want to go back to where we had our honeymoon! Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area! This time, it would be nice to stay in a cabin! We would just go for the weekend, and obviously we have a budget! Nothing too expensive! Sooo, if all goes well, and we save up, we will have a nice weekend getaway trip! :-) And it's only 4 hours away from here which is awesome! Not too long of a drive! I'm hoping everything works out so that we can go! :-)

We also have met another couple at the seminary, and actually went out to eat with them on Sunday, after lunch! They are really great! We hope to get to know them more! And actually Christopher has a class with him, and didn't realize it. (It's a big class!) The cool thing is, they lived in CA, and attended MacArthur's church, and if you know anything about MacArthur, then you know that it's pretty awesome! :-)

Well, that's all I can think of, I'm hoping to update this thing more often! I know a lot of time went by between this post and the last!

Please continue to keep us in your prayers, as we follow God's will. He is truly meeting our needs in a way that makes us awestruck! We are so very thankful for His providence! Also we are so very thankful for everyone that is keeping us in their prayers! You have no idea how much it means to us, to know that we have believers lifting us up in prayer! God is good, isn't He?!?! :)
